Enable is providing fibre broadband services to homes, businesses and schools in Christchurch and in a number of towns in the Waimakariri and Selwyn Districts – as part of the national ultra-fast broadband initiative.
We’re connecting homes, businesses, schools and healthcare facilities in Christchurch and some surrounding towns with fibre broadband – as part of the national ultra-fast broadband (UFB) initiative.
Launched in 2007 to build a commercial fibre network for businesses and schools in Christchurch, it wasn’t long until Enable won the Government contract (in May 2011) to install fibre broadband to around 180,000 connections in Christchurch, Lincoln, Prebbleton, Rolleston, Templeton, Rangiora, Woodend, and Kaiapoi.
Focused only on our region, Enable is wholly owned by Christchurch City Holdings Limited, the commercial arm of the Christchurch City Council.
We will continue to empower our people to take ownership and take action to deliver on our purpose, to grow, and to care for each other and our community.
We will build on our momentum in the experience we provide our retail service providers and their customers and achieve a great customer experience.
We will ensure our growth trajectory continues – by connecting more homes and businesses to Enable fibre broadband.
We will continue to build a bond with the greater Christchurch community – ensuring they know who we are, what we stand for and the opportunities we can help them realise.
Our fibre network is the essential enabler of an economically and socially vibrant, connected, innovative, and globally competitive greater Christchurch.
