Five fibre broadband myths -- BUSTED

Myth #1: "Fibre broadband is more expensive than a copper connection"

FALSE! Enjoying the benefits of fibre broadband often costs the same, if not less than an old copper broadband connection. Just check with your retailer for specific pricing.

Myth #2: "Getting fibre broadband installed means I will need to have a big trench dug up my driveway"

FALSE! Enable use different methods to bring fibre from the street to your property – and we will work with you to agree a method that ensures the least amount of disruption to your property. Check out the different options here.

Myth #3: "It costs thousands of dollars to get fibre broadband installed"

FALSE! Enable does not charge for residential fibre broadband installs. This free install offer is open until the end of 2019 at this stage. It’s best to check with your broadband provider to see if they charge anything – such as for their broadband equipment.

Myth #4: "I can’t get fibre broadband down my right of way or shared driveway"

FALSE! To get fibre broadband down your right of way, you’ll firstly need to make an order for fibre broadband with your retailer. We’ll then send out a technician to plan the work required install our network to all the houses and we will to get your neighbours’ consent (don’t worry, we’ve got a specialised team to deal with this). After that, we treat it like a normal install.

Myth #5: "I live in an old house so fibre broadband isn’t an option for me"

FALSE! We’ll work with you to find the best way to bring fibre from the street into your property. And remember Enable does not charge for installing fibre at your place until the end of 2019.
