Christchurch café and garden centre Terra Viva, is a low internet user according to Manager, Kristo Kukk – despite being a business that employees approximately 50 staff. Regardless, the business recognises a fast, reliable fibre-based broadband service as being crucial for their operations.
“We chose to switch to fibre broadband because internet speed and reliability is critical for us. With staff, EFTPOS terminals, phone lines and three different arms of our business all operating over the one connection, we needed a broadband option we can depend on,” says Mr Kukk.
As a growing business, Mr Kukk is aware that their internet use is only going to increase and considers fibre broadband the future in telecommunications.
“As soon as we heard fibre broadband was coming to Christchurch, we knew we wanted it. We recognise that fibre is where broadband technology is headed and it’s important for our business that we stay up to date.”
The peace of mind that fibre broadband has offered Terra Viva means the communications side of the business runs so efficiently they can forget about it.
He says, “Our fibre connection allows us to send large data files without a second thought, and we regularly scan and upload sales reports, budgets and invoices. Plus, the ability to back up our sales data every evening is easy with fibre.”
He adds “Fibre provides a high quality connection so we can now hold regular Skype meetings with our North Island office”, says Mr Kukk.
The business has become so accustomed to the speed that comes with fibre broadband that they wonder how they ever managed without it.
