Enable launches fibre broadband services in Rangiora and Kaiapoi

Fibre broadband network provider, Enable has today launched its services to approximately 3,300 homes, businesses and schools in Rangiora and Kaiapoi – marking the first time home and small business fibre broadband services have been available in the towns.

The areas covered by Enable’s new network includes the main centres of both towns and a number of other business areas – meaning about 900 businesses can now connect. A number of schools – including Rangiora and Kaiapoi High Schools – are also able to access fibre broadband services, as are almost 2,500 homes.

“Enable is very excited to be offering our services for the first time in Waimakariri District,” said Enable CEO, Steve Fuller.

“Since we announced that we were coming to the towns and when, we have received a lot of interest and support from the likes of Enterprise North Canterbury, business owners, schools principals and residents.”

“We are looking forward to this interest translating into local people quickly making the switch to fibre and enjoying the benefits.”

Enable knows that there is considerable demand for fibre broadband services in the towns surrounding Christchurch. Services were launched to Rolleston and Lincoln almost a year ago and uptake has been very high. 23 percent of homes and businesses in Rolleston are now connected to Enable’s fibre with more customer connections underway.  Lincoln is also fast approaching 20 percent uptake.

“It’s unheard of for a new technology to be embraced by communities at the rates Rolleston and Lincoln have. We urge the Rangiora and Kaiapoi communities to do the same,” added Mr Fuller.

Rangiora and Kaiapoi residents and business owners interested in moving to fibre broadband should visit enable.net.nz to check if coverage is available at their place, and then contact a retail service provider to connect.
