To be able to connect your property to fibre broadband we need to first do some work in your street. We’re committed to minimising any disruption we cause while we are in your neighbourhood.
We are most of the way through the network deployment and we will complete this deployment project by 31 December 2018.
We are laying new fibre-optic ducting down both sides of every street in Christchurch and some surrounding centres.
Laying our network involves drilling or trenching fibre ducting along every street. You will see the big rolls of ducting when we are in your suburb.
We also lay smaller ducting up to the boundary of every property. When this is done you will see two red ducts sticking out of the ground. Once we have tested our network in your neighbourhood, these will then be buried. At this stage, we will complete any reinstatement work and we will let you know that you can connect to fibre.
The map below outlines our plans to provide fibre broadband to the remaining parts of greater Christchurch.*
For properties that fall within our next build programme (Fibre Available before December 2018), we will provide more accurate information about when service will be available in our address tool in mid-2017.
